Chances are you are one of the many folks who either tried cannabis for the first time during the pandemic or you are a regular consumer who increased your consumption due to, well, a lot of shit going down and not a lot to do. I personally noticed a couple new components of my regular sesh ritual. I was consuming less product in more concentrated forms. I started dabbing with a puffco Peak and I also discovered some new varieties of infused pre-rolls popping up on the market.
While I’ve always been a huge fan of infused pre-rolls and capping my bowls with concentrate, there are some products emerging that are really great and others that are down right offensive. Here’s a short list of Oregon rec options for infusing your summer sesh!
Awesome .5g bursts of terpalicious explosions. These brand new pre-rolls from Grasse Co. are the only product like this on the market. No trim, only flower and always strain specific infused with solventless concentrate in the form of ice hash. Why do I like strain specific? You are going to get a consistent experience. I’m open to mix and match strains, but when you want to know what you’re going to get you gotta roll with strain specific every time. To top it all off, they infuse with ice hash which is a solventless concentrate. I look for solventless because I know there is only the extracted resin from the flower in the contents, no leftover chemicals like you get with other solvent extraction methods like BHO.
The OG infused blunt by Bull Run and Grasse Co. These were so fun when they launched in 2019, and kept coming with some amazing strain specific rosin and flower combos ever since. The blunt is nice because you can chill hard and cruise on this smoke like a cigar. It will stay lit and hang with you. Perfect for a smooth smoke and relaxing sesh by the river.
#3 Avalon Trip Packs
These are a fun pack of 5 solventless bubble hash infused pre-rolls in a cardboard container and a lower price point. These are good for blowin’ an afternoon off with some friends. Everyone can have their own joint and your generosity won’t break the bank. These are a little more harsh than the previous two and could be due to trim or the paper they use to roll. If you can get past that, they get the job done. I found these only at Cured Green in N PDX
I’ll still smoke it but it didn’t make the cut:
CBDiscovery, big ol fatty joints that are rolled with AMAZING flower from really cool farm collaborations. I’m personally not into solvents, so this one just doesn’t really feel all that great to me. Tastes good, expensive, not solventless.
KARMA, and all dip sticks are completely ineffective as an infused product. When you have the concentrate on the outside of the joint, it all burns off. You may consume up to 20% of the concentrate, but most of that incinerates right away into thin air. The price point is lower and the aesthetic can be flashy for photos, but at the end of the day infusions on the outside of the pre-roll are just not it.
